A new beginning…
Hello,
Firstly thank you for visiting this blog! It’s a real pleasure to have you here reading my stories as they roll out of the game world that this blog is based upon. Might and Fealty is a truly brilliant game created by Tom Vogt and is a unique concept of a true political sandbox – you can do anything within the game and it is other players, not game-mechanics, that decide on the consequences of your actions. In addition, the game is designed to literally run forever, it has no endpoint of any kind. It is not a building game where you’ve reached “full build” and then enter the endgame, but it is based on constantly fluctuating equilibriums.
Imagine a new land, ripe for colonisation, with villages spotted around its rolling hills, grassy plains and imperial mountains. Imagine taking those villages and developing them by building a blacksmith or a tailors, producing clothing and basic weapons and then recruiting men to fight and carry arms, attacking with axe and sword and defending your neolithic settlements. Then fast forward a few hundred years and you villages are towns feeding your capital city whos magnificent armies march from its gates in shining armour carrying the banner of your house and spreading your authority to the four corners of the earth.
There’s trade, there’s tribal warfare, there economic management. You can create the perfect troops of soldiers from your stockpile of swords, pikes, leather armour, chainmail and cavalry from your stock of horses and use them to subjugate your friends and enemies or you can simply squeeze them with trade to evolve your own realm.
The options are almost limitless.
This blog follows my family of First Ones, The Alumaani, from there journey to these new lands, the subjugation of their first settlements and then hopefully onwards throughout there lifetimes during the game. If you want to join me your welcome to at http://mightandfealty.com, tell Tom The Alumaani said hi!
